In Mexico, just across the border, once vibrant murals in Cacaxtla in Tlaxcala state in the east central part of the country have lost 70% of their original colour. Mexico is clearly not doing enough to save them.
Mexico cannot look after its own heritage, stop it deteriorating or being stolen. The role of collectors in helping to protect this heritage is clear.
