France has proposed an aggressive program to gather up Syrian antiquities and offer them "safe harbor". It is good to see that it is not just Americans who are willing to take up the burden of looking after the heritage of humanity, and put protecting Syrian archaeological objects from destruction at
the hands of fanatics first.
